GPCAPT Tim Churchill

GPCAPT Tim Churchill graduated from Number 147 pilots course in 1989 and was posted to number 3SQN flying F/A-18A’s for his first operational tour.  He was promoted to his current rank in 2011.

GPCAPT Churchill has a broad experience in fighters across both operational and training squadrons including an exchange posting with the USAF flying the F-15E Strike Eagle. He is a Fighter Combat Instructor with over 3000 hours on fighters and in 2006 was posted as Commanding Officer 77SQN where he oversaw several capabilities delivered into service. In 2015 GPCAPT Churchill deployed to the Middle East in support of OP Inherent Resolve as the Commander of Australia’s Composite Air Wing.

GPCAPT Churchill is a graduate of ACSC and his two staff tours have both been in the Capability Development Group with over three years as the  sub-program lead for the ADF’s Air Combat Capability, including all weapons and fast jet training.  Whilst there he developed and sponsored projects worth well over $20 Billion. GPCAPT Churchill currently heads up Australia’s Growler Transition Office.
